hi guys just added a new 250gig sata 2 to my pc and as i was setting windows up on the new drive i deleted the partition from my old 80gig hdd which had all my data on, i continued to install windows on the new 250gig sata drive and can now no longer access my old 80gig hard drive.

It has all my data on it that i need i have not formatted it only deleted the partition. i have tried to access it through windows and i gt this drive is not formatted, and also trying to boot the os on the 80 gig hdd and this doesn't work either.

I also tried to create a new partition without formatting the hdd and this didn't work either way as above.

does anyone have a way around this without sending the drive off???? all i need to do is open the drive to copy the stuff off it to my new hdd and then it can be formatted.

can't believe i was so stupid to do this. thanks for all your help

Hi,

I have had this problem many times. I use a program that is called "recover my files" I have version 3.94. I recovered files that had been quick formatted. It has a number of different searches, depending on what has been deleted. Once its found the files it should tell you how successful you should expect the recovery to be. Hope this helps.
