Or it could be that your crappy psu failed. This is cropping up more and more lately with the OCUK ranges. They are cheaper than other psu's for a reason. They are built down to a price and use cheaper components.

cheers folks but how would i go about checking the psu? plus no fans run or anything when i try to power on!! cpu cooler is corsair h70, this is the second system like this i have built i built this for somebody and 1 for myself and mine has been running perfect for the last few months! not 1 problem at all has to be said tho im running a corsair hx 1000 psu in mine!

Should be easy to diagnose then, try your HX1000 in the failed system. I'm thinking PSU as well.

haha ! ok got him to plug his psu into old mans pc an guess what mobo light came on but no post!! nothing! so i guess its safe to say the psu is kaput?

Let's hope the PSU hasn't taken down the rest of the system with it...
Try restting the CMOS, hopefully this will get it to POST. Bare in mind this will remove the overclock settings, although you can ask OcUK for the overclock settings.

You can buy an ATX power supply unit tester from ****** (or any other electrical store) and that will tell you instantly if the PSU is fried they're worth every penny when diagnosing hardware faults and the PSU is usually the first to pop.

Like the other said, don't skimp on a good quality PSU.
