recently, ive had my gfx card overheating (agp 6800gt). running games even at the lowest settings has caused it to overheat, so i get lines of colour down the screen and have to restart the PC. i thought this was my gfx card that was the problem, but i ran MBM and found this:

i noticed the 12v (no idea what it does) was quite high, could this or anything else in that picture be the source of the problem?

I doubt thats correct. Go into the bios and check the 12v rail just in case tho.

If you can, try and return the card for a refund. If you can't do that, get an arctic cooling vga silencer for it.
You may find that its just full of dust, try cleaning it out and see if this helps.
Go into ctrl panel/display/settings/advanced/6800gt and see if theres a temperature tab in there.
