make a usb wired printer wireless?

As Andy says, WPS is insecure and should be turned off / disabled. Using the ASUS router to connect to an identical network and then turning it off though is peak inventiveness lol :)

If you don't still have the install disk for the printer, or don't have a CD-ROM to install it from you can (probably) download the support software from Samsung. From there, follow the instructions to connect it to your PC by USB first then run the installer to connect it to your wifi network.

turns out google nest wifi doesn't support WPS this was the issue. so back to square one

Get software:

Method B — USB‑assisted software setup (recommended for Windows and macOS)
1. Download drivers and utilities: Get the latest driver package and Samsung Easy Printer Manager from the support page for SL‑M2026W / M2026W.
2. Temporarily connect USB: Connect the printer to your computer with a USB cable.
3. Run the installer: Launch the downloaded installer; choose Network or Wireless setup when prompted. The installer will detect the printer over USB and offer to configure Wi‑Fi settings.
4. Enter SSID and password when prompted; the installer will push the wireless settings to the printer.
5. Disconnect USB after the installer confirms wireless connection; print a test page to verify.
Notes
• Use Easy Printer Manager to change network settings later (IP, device name, Wi‑Fi Direct on/off).
