Hi,

This is my current setup:
AMD Athlon II X4 Quad Core 620 2.60GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail
Geil Ultra Series 4GB (2x2GB) PC3-17000 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit
Asus M4A785TD-M Evo AMD 785G (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard

When i check on how everything is running it says the RAM is at 1333MHz.

Is there some settings i can change that will allow this speed to increase closer to its rated MHz?

Will it make much of a difference?
Will it result in overclocking my CPU? (It's on stock cooling). Can i reduce the multiplier if this is the case?

As you can tell i'm no expert at this!

Thanks for any info,
Gareth

You should able to change your ram multiplier to increase your ram mhz in bios, or any overclock to your cpu will also change your ram speed too, but not advisable on a stock cooler.

Is that what it will be called in the bios?

There's so many different things to change, all with such vague descriptions.

I'm at work now, and have no internet at home just yet so it's not easy for me to do any research there

I used OC Genie to auto overclock my CPU (core i5) from stock to 3.5GHz and it reduced my RAM MHZ to under 1300MHz. :S Same stuff as OP, Geil Ultra which can supposednly go up to 2133MHz?
