Make my car gleam!!

Get some non-acidic wheel cleaner. Autoglym do one. You may find normal car shampoo doesn't quite shift brake dust well enough.

The megs products are good, altough not the best. If buying from halfords then possibly the best. Collinite wax is pretty good and poor boys stuff is well looking at though.

The best advice is to stop using a sponge. Unless its a zmyol sponge.

Never buy from Halfords, you can get the same products from ebay for less inc delivery. I managed to get a 1L bottle of Super Resin Polish from ebay for less than a 330ml bottle from Halfords.

Theres a really good seller on ebay, i think his shop is called Detailed Obsession. Really helpful guy and doesn't rip you off on postage either, often the price stamped on by Royal mail is more than he charged.

i dont get this rubbish about sponges being bad. ive used them for years... like 20 years and ive not got them to damage paint

a mitt will gather dirt and drag that around the paint in the same way a sponge will. some people are absolute suckers for marketing blurb

A sponge is made of loads of little bubbles of PU, these trap grit and then drag it around the paintwork. Whereas a wash mitt wont trap the grit anywhere near as bad. I think using 2 buckets will also help a lot.

They do trap grit (washmitts) but due to the "pile" being so thick, the dirt is held away from the paint, and then rinses out easier when you go for a swish in bucket #2. ;)
