Help with my line speed quicker (linksys router)

hi i am currently connected to a linksys wireless router, our line speed is about 0.5meg, is it possible anyway to make that quicker (adjusting anything), we are quite a way from the exchange so i thought that was the quickest speed we would get.

does anyone have any suggestions (would be helpful)

the only way to make it faster is to pay for a faster speed if any are available from your ISP
