Hello all,

I remember Andy and Tom telling me about if I drilled holes in the airbox I would hear the turbo whistle when some beans are spread liberally....

is this true?

if so...is there any harm in doing this? :)

Many Thanks,
Phate

Pop your airbox off and take it for a drive up and down the road. Gives you a rough idea of what it will sound like with an induction kit.

Most turbocharged cars make far more wooshy sucky noises with a cone filter fitted.

Don't think I can do that...'cos it'll need an air filter, won't it?

Was thinking of fitting one, I like 'em - Just remember Andy and Tom talking about it...

It's only up and down the street, don't be a fairy! It doesn't need an air filter to run - it will work fine as long as you leave airflow meter attached.

Ah fair enough :) I don't know these things! :p

Might do it...it's working up the effort to go downstairs and have a crack at it :p

Thanks for the info though!

Im not sure about drilling the air box but I have an Apexi induction kit on mine(arguably the best induction kit for a 3S-GTE) and it sounds real 'whooshy' when boosting. If you can, try to get an induction kit. I think they are around £50.

I want to get an Ind Kit to fit to my 3SGTE - but I've heard reports that the sound they make can be very marmite so before splashing out I want to hear what it'd sound like first :o
