Goldfrapp is a good choice - but usually if it is moving from more make out to steamy stuff i'd say!

Can't go wrong with either Marvin Gaye, or Lionel. Massive attack have a couple of cracking tracks as well, unfinished sympathy for example, although Blue Lines as an album is made for it.

Not new, but it doesn't have to be.
