Make up my mind - X1900XT-X or 7900GTX

Fair comments Easyrider. Also I am a bit reluctant to mess with the stock cooler for warranty reasons on such an expensive card. I would prefer something I can just plug in an use and know it aint go to be noisy, and since my psu is limited power wise and would be tricky to replace, it would be nice to have a card I know isn't going to suck it dry and still have some juice left over for a physx card if they takeoff.
I'm going to have a think about it over the next day or so before I make up my mind.
Out of curioisity - would you recommend the cheapest 7900gtx I can find and overclock it. Is there a good chance it will reach the same speeds as the extreme xfs's. And if so, which would you recommend, the OcUK version or the Gainward which are both in stock.

I wonder how Oblivion will play on my rig when I get either my X1900 or 7900gtx. My cpu is a Presler 3.4 4meg cache. Unfortunately no overclock is possible over the bios on the motherboard <damn>. Which is annoying as these cpu's can hit anywhere from 4.2 to 4.5ghz. I am sure it will be good enough for gaming at 1280 though. Had to order an LCD today (Viewsonic VX922). The buzzing from my CRT when windows are maximised is driving me crazy.

Thanks for asking....Was waiting for this to get back on topic. The answer is no card....because...and wait for it...I am getting a 7900gtx oem tommorrow from work for "extended" testing
I already had a play with it in the lab today and it passed 3dmark 06 without any artifacting at 700/1780. Almost as high a clock speed as the impossible to get XFX XXX jobs. Temps were 43 to 46 idle, and never once went over 64. Score just shy of 6240 with a P4 3.4 950 at stock speeds. Basically my whole rig is for testing and it looks like the only thing I am going to end up buying is an LCD as my CRT is driving me nuts with all the buzzing.
