Make up my mind - X1900XT-X or 7900GTX

Can someone please post their .ini file containing the max possible details settings with the best possible performance tweaks? :)
Just check out this page, it's got tons of reccommended tweaks on it. http://www.tweakguides.com/Oblivion_1.html

Page ten has a very good explaination as to why asking for pre-tweaked .ini files is a bad idea. Tweaking the .ini file is a huge game of hit and miss, I have been playing with it and trying to get good settings since the game came out.

My first The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion screenshot since my extra gigabyte of RAM and X1800XT arrived today. 1280x960 resolution, utterly max detail settings, 16x anisotropic filtering, 4x antialiasing, and HDR. Using the BTmod and the LOD terrain mod to improve graphics and gameplay, not even gotten into the .ini since upgrading.
my FPS on these settings rarely drops below 35 and is usually pretty well over

Then later...

You are correct though, my Oblivion.ini file is heavily tweaked with tricks I picked up in various places while running this game on a GTO², they are still handy on this X1800XT.

So was the ini tweaked before or not?

If you think my card is underperforming, here's some compare's.

3DMark '06
3DMark '05

Seriously, Oblivion runs like a slide show with 4XAA+HDR on my rig and i'm more than happy for ppl to make up their own minds :)

Try reading what I said, slowly this time so you understand. When I posted the screenshot of the Khajiit, I was using no tweaks. When I posted here and posted the screenshot of the waterfront, I was using tweaks.

I was not using the same .ini, the same .ini I used with my GTO² wouldn't make as big a difference as completely tweaking the .ini to suit my card. Hence why I said "with tricks I learned" and not "with my old .ini file."

I don't know why people even bother going this far to prove it to him... you all know you're right, have proof, and yet one person with a known history of trolling is saying otherwise. Case closed? :)

^^^And this is from someone who is known to always stick his nose into threads at every available oportunity to incite trouble. Quit being an hypocrite.

exomis, i understand perfectly...that you're cluching at straws, now maybe you should read your own post again:

So you're calling three of us liars. Just accept it dtg, you're underperforming. *Goes to play Oblivion @ 1280x960 and 35+ fps.* No need to be bitter dear little boy. As the other guy said, you have a history of trolling, I'm done with you. :)

You know, you have a rather unhealthy interest in me, richdog, following me around the forum like you do, and even once asking me if i had a gf! Slightly worrying to say the least. I don't appreciate the personal questions kid, ok?

On topic: Which card did you finish up ordering, flanno...if you can stop laughing for a minute that is :)

Thanks for asking....Was waiting for this to get back on topic. The answer is no card....because...and wait for it...I am getting a 7900gtx oem tommorrow from work for "extended" testing :) I already had a play with it in the lab today and it passed 3dmark 06 without any artifacting at 700/1780. Almost as high a clock speed as the impossible to get XFX XXX jobs. Temps were 43 to 46 idle, and never once went over 64. Score just shy of 6240 with a P4 3.4 950 at stock speeds. Basically my whole rig is for testing and it looks like the only thing I am going to end up buying is an LCD as my CRT is driving me nuts with all the buzzing.

Good news then, flanno. I'm not surprised at all that the OEM card clocks just as well as the "OC" versions. Your '06 score beats my x1900xtx too! :)

I was just surprised where I work are shipping them already. Only realised the other day. Of course it is on "loan" until the next card comes out.
