Hey guys,

finally decided to make my own gaming rig to get myself ready for Skyrim, bf3 and just had enough of laptops. Anyway i have been wondering recently would it be more beneficial if i purchased another graphics card and then buy a CPU like the i5 2300/AMD phenom II x6 1055T. Or should i just wait and save up for the AMD bulldozer and buy another graphics card later down the line.

Right now i have the Radeion HD 6790 graphics card and ASUS Crosshair IV Extreme Desktop MB.

Thanks.

Hi,

Are those literally the only components you have?

We're 5 weeks away from the release of BF3 (I think) and still not getting much info on the Bulldozer situation. So it depends on how badly you want to play it at good settings.
There isn't much point in buying a x6 really. Unless BF3 is coded different to BFBC2 then it won't make sure of the last 2 cores.
The Crosshair is a very good board, with the ability to take Bulldozer, but you could be waiting a while.

What kind of budget do you have in mind?

What CPU do you have at the moment and is it overclocked? PSU?

Radeon HD 6790 isn't going to cut it with new titles at 1920x1080 at high settings. What resolution are you gaming at?
