So I've got one mobile on the Orange network, pay as you go, although I usually top up a tenner to get the Dolphin package.

I'm trying to find out how much it would cost me to call a USA number from the UK... I can't find the rates though. Just some info about international call forwarding and other bits and bobs like that...

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

For international calls, I'd suggest using skype instead, unless you really need to while out and about (dont know if orange allow skype calls).

Another option (if you can get the handset unlocked) is to get a SIM card from either lyca mobile, lebara mobile or vectone mobile as they will offer international calling for a few pence a minute.

Best thing for you to do is register with Voipcheap - register your mobile number.

Then you get an 0208 number you can call internationally which comes off your free minutes and the call amounts get deducted from your voipcheap account. I use this option in the UK when calling international and a lot of the countries are free to call :) (assuming you've added some credit to voipcheap that is ... )

I don't know why international call charges from mobiles in the UK are such a rip off.

I'm using a pay as you go card here in Malaysia, and to call landlines in US/UK/Germany etc. I pay a little less than 5P a minute !

Surely just go to justcall[dot]co[dot[uk] and look up the number to call there? They have specific numbers and rates for international calls from mobiles - although I have never tried the mobile numbers myself...
