Making my monitor wireless?

I know there's wireless charging for phones now, NFC, wireless keyboard-mouse etc, but I've wondered if monitors have gone the same way yet?

My monitor is a Dell U2412M which only has DVI and the laptop has HDMI. I can connect the two using a DVI-to-HDMI converter and a conventional HDMI cable. Would this work if I went wireless or would I need an HDMI monitor? Also, would the wireless protocol take 1920x1200? I prefer 16:10 res over 16:9.

What would the costs be give or take?

Bandwidth and lag are the reasons.

I'm sure it can be done, but not very well.

Going from Wikipedia, HDMI has a bandwidth between 4 - 14Gbps... how fast is your wireless?

My router is the Superhub 2 issued by Virgin Media. I doubt it'll be as fast as 4-14Gbps?!

They have been selling this kit for a few years now. Search for wireless HDMI extender and the like.
