Hello, new to the forum. Thinking about making the jump from console to pc gaming.
i've been weighing up my options from pre-built pc's to gaming laptops but i think that with all the help you can get through forums like this and tutorials on youtube, i will attempt to build my own to get the best bang for my £££ and it's also something i'd be interested in knowing how to do.

thinking £900 max for everything. Will be using mainly for gaming and video/photo editing.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for the spec Leprechaun really appreciate it and i'm sure it's a beast but i should've been a bit clearer. for the money i really need everything. will actually say £1000 absolute max including mouse, keyboard, monitor and OS. Thanks again for any input

ahh.....then don't get my build........yeah your talking another 3-400 pound on top of that for monitor mouse keyboard and os

Lee32uk's spec is bang on. Pretty much as I would have a PC built on that budget. I would hope for a slightly higher rated psu though to ensure I have headroom for future tech.

You will upgrade your graphics and cpu etc in the future but your PSU and possibly your case are likely to be with you for a good long time if they're good ones.

Thanks for the specs lads. Just wondering though.. is using a HD tv as a monitor ok? or is is there a lot of lag? thanks again in advance.

it would be ok to use an hdtv i have started using one with my new build but you'd probably have to sit about 2-3 feet away from it to read anything on the screen, that's what i have to do if its in your living room investing in a bean bag for it might be a good idea :)

ah right. the one i was thinking of using is the 42" i use for the ps3 atm. Also another question is there a lot of difference in the 3570 and the 3570k? thanks again.
