Hello :)

Boyfriend and I have found a great place, but are having some difficulty deciding how to make the most of our storage space in the bedroom.

Not sure of all the measurements yet, but the room is 16ft long and 12ft wide.

This is the back of the bedroom - the door is 3ft high and opens into the eaves.

The main issue is making the most of this space under the sloping roof. We're thinking lots of little chests of drawers.

Basically we need to fit in a wardrobe, double bed (we have this) drawers, small desk (we have this too) and any other storage device that may fit.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. At the moment we can't really afford much, so cheap suggestions would be appreciated!

Was I the only one who read the thread title and thought "WinRAR?"

:p

I don't mean to be too blunt but why did you decide to rent this property if the bedroom is such a quirky space? You're not sure if you can do changes and the room is quite an odd space...i personally would have gone somewhere else...unless the rest of the flat/house is amazing?

Sidewinder - It's really good for the money - and my partner and I are quite short, so we can cope with the sloping ceilings! TBH we've had a look around and this is by far the best we could get on our limited budget. If I could pick and choose I'd be living in a spacious apartment with built in wardrobes...one can dream.

We're not allowed any pets - even fish! I asked!

Thanks for the tips, I was thinking clothes rails because they're height adjustable, I presume? And we're planning an Ikea trip when we've got the measurements :D still expensive for us atm though.

Clothes rails would also be my suggestion and with a bit of ingenuity you should be able to rig up a basic set of curtains to hide it away for most of the time. Shelving in that space would be pretty easy to put together, at the most basic level you could do it with a few planks and some bricks then relying on mavity/weight of the items on the shelving - beyond that it depends on your DIY skills how complicated you want to make it.
