Hi all,

Current system spec is 4-5 years old now, at least. Everything was bought when it was the best there was so that'll give some indication of how old

Current spec according to CPU-Z:

running an akasa cooling fan, stuck on maximum and i think a 700w modular psu. Windows 7 64bit too.

I know the mobo can take another sticks of ram as I am only using 2 out of the 4, not sure which is best to get though. Not sure its worth overclocking, no idea where to start or whether its worth the hassle on this old spec. Need to replace the gfx card as well, but thinking it might be worth getting 2 older dx10 cards and putting them in SLI?

I'd like to do this as cheap as possible, its only got to last another 8-12 months then it will be passed to the wife to play Sims and rollercoaster games

Forget SLI if I were you, unless you could get another 7800 ?

Alternative: Get a cheap 460 or something... I'd recomend the 768 as anything more will be CPU bound.

Clocking your CPU would be worth it. Consider it goes 20 percent higher, well that's 20 percent more performance. 2GB of ram would pinch though in later games.

Truthfully though I'd not say it's worth spending that much on the system.

Yes mate, Always the little varient that won't work .. went into loft today .. 2 7800gt's one is fubared though

anyway my WC Pump arrived so im happy just need the rest haha but yeh just get a 460 maybe invest in WC ? So you can crank that CPU up ?
