Arrived at my parents house to see this...

Is this common with Mini's or did someone not like this car/person?

The rear window being broken is what is currently making me think its a deliberate act, I could be wrong but I would have thought the rear window would have survived the tyre explosion intact. People who torch cars like to break all the windows to make sure the fire doesnt starve itself of oxygen.

Then again the fire brigade could have broken it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That issue is for the petrol turbo-charged versions. The Mini pictured in the OP isn't a Cooper S.

All the 1.4 petrol engines on that model of Mini were turbocharged in some capacity. But yes the issue did only affect Cooper S models.

My Sister's MINI caught fire - something to do with the power steering. BMW repaired it all free of charge though, so that was alright! Thankfully in her case the fire was put out very quickly so it didn't end up like the car in the OP...

Yea well, Toyota did a recall for faulty airbags on certain models made years ago. Yet many other models which were NOT recalled also have the same fault (As I found out first hand when a Toyota Celica I was in failed to deploy it's side airbags in a side on impact) :/

If all Minis share the same water pump then it's a good bet their all at risk.

That looks a right mess. Who would leave something like that on public display??

Someone should mow that grass immediately!
