mals 'more than I can chew?' mod

It turns out I had some filler here already :D
So, yesterday and today was spent finishing the top and very nearly the front.

The drive bay cut out is done, all thats left is to re-open a few holes and fill in a few pits, oh and height match it to the top (which is thicker than before).
I cant do a lot more after that until some parts im waiting for arrive, (hose, fittings, fans, electronics), If they dont appear on Wednesday I'll probably make a start on spraying the inside.

Well, I got some of the parts I was waiting for, not all but enough for me to move the system into the new case. Top and sides are done, silver and black. But I still have a long way to go with the front (hasnt changed at all since my last post). Installed a 7 bay hdd cage, although the pump takes 4 of those. So, system is running and temps, while not accurately measured yet, appear to be about 8c lower while idle
Anyway, I will put some pics up tomorrow, after I have temporarily connected my card reader.

Edit! be careful where you buy your hose from! I got some 7/16 Masterclear for an apparently decent price. Turns out to be thinwalled. The effect of which will be apparent when I post pics, but for now its fair to say I'm very nervous about the hose kinking :(

how did u go about painting it? did u remove the old paint first or just primer over the top? urs looks more well done than mine have you done this sorta thing b4?

For painting I progressed up to 400grit wet'n'dry. half a dozen coats of primer (flatted with wet'n'dry after 3 coats and at the end) then 4 coats of paint, flatted after 2 coats. Its smooth as, though if I decide to laquer it I will attack it with some 800 grit first.
I've done paint on cases before and lots of ghetto cooling mods, but this is the first attempt at doing a whole case properly.
There is nothing wrong with yours matey, just take your time and think it through.

:( well, life takes the front seat again. I havent done anything at all since the last time I posted, but as promised a pair of piccies to show where I am up to.
One with the top and sides in place to show the paintwork (doesnt show the silver top very well....damned phone camera)

and one showing components inside,

Got a 'surprise' audit coming at work so it'll probably be another fortnight before I get to do more work on the front :(

Hopefully I will complete the water loop then too, !"£$!% thing will not bleed :(. The only component I changed is the rad, I'll need to change the hose too before I am finished, as you can tell from the excessive use of ties to stop it kinking.

Lookin good there I like the paint job, I'm having problems with my panels at the moment but I have my system in and fully working. Its quite an art getting a good finish with a can!

very thin coats, dont let them dry completely before the next (if using car paints that is...new coat when the previous one is rubbery) and flatten it every third coat.

as soon as there is something to add i will lol.
Still not 100% on what I am going to do with the front panel, other than the basics, suggestions?
