Man dies as his screams for help are ignored by neighbours

The hypocrisy of the dailyfail is monumental, on one page you will have a "ZOMG no one went outside to help" then on turning the page you will be greeted with a "don't leave your house, the (insert hoodies, immigrants, rapists, murderers) will get you!111! storey.

Which is it ? do we stay in, or go out

Simple - make your own way in life rather than passively sit and be told.

what a horrible way to go :(

a lot have windows open in august so many people would have heard something if awake, how much having your head down a drain in mud would muffle your cries for help i dunno?
might have just sounded like lads coming home from a pub?

Sick people that is.

We have a park near our house, just a open field in the middle of our area. Rather large, normally famous for dog walkers in the morning/eve and scum at night to sit in the kids playground.

Anyway, me and my mate were playing the xbox at around 9pm (think it was when cod4 came out) having a few beers, chilling kind of thing, when all of a sudden we heard a female scream out asking for help. Me and my mate paused the game, ears open for a second, at the window... Another scream. We both grabbed our shoes and ran outside and listened intently for another scream... Low and behold, from the park, me and my mate legged it to the park, only to find some old lady being dragged by her handbag by a couple of youths, we sprinted in her aid and chased off the scum.

Walked the old girl back to her house, she welcomed us in, we made sure she was ok, I made her a tea hehe and gave her my house number incase she felt uncomfortable as it was clear her husband had passed away.

Got a call the next day thanking me and my friend.

Now why most people don't do this I don't know.

Good on you, that was very kind and noble :)

So you wouldn't help someone just because they were drunk? Do you not think that is a bad reflection on our mentality? Even if it is the norm, it is still a negative reflection due to that sense of normality.

Way to go to miss a point...

I dont get what your trying to say here? Actually i do it's a tounge in cheek statement that people who smoke weed are not dangerous I assume. You ever think thats not the drugs he was talking about? or are you going to fight off a smack head robbing you with a dirty needle with a mars bar?

He didn't mention specific drugs.

Which was my point.

As some people appear to be particularly slow on the update today, I'll leave it at that.

I think that may be one of the worst ways I can think of to die... It's crazily shocking that not even one person checked after all that time :o

Reminds me of Sunday night. I've been somewhat increasingly unwell and ended up vomiting out of nowhere on a 30mph road. Had to swing the door open and vomit down the car. Ended up pulling over and was rather violently sick. I was purely an inconvenience to everyone else, beeping etc. Plenty of people walking/driving past staring, not one person asked if I was alright.

Such a horrible way to go. This sadly reminds me of footage shown of an old man being hit by a car on cctv and nobody stopping to help him. Cars just driving around his body and people staring from the footpath. :(

wonder how he ended up head first down the drain? fell over? looking for something?

He dropped his keys down there and it was deeper than expected. He could've rang a friend who had a spare set but didn't want to disturb him that late at night, what a shame :(
