Man of Honour Nomination....

I've been calling Stulid Stupid in my head for some time now, due to some ridiculous personal views he has posted in GD. I've had a search and can't find them, nor can remember exactly what he wrote. I rarely venture into the hardware forums, but good for him if he's helping lots of people out.

How many spaces after a full stop is the one that sticks in my mind, not very pleasant in that one at all :D

I think people are misreading what I proposed...

I think that the Moderation team/Spie should choose the MoH as usual....however as there is invariably more than one award, one of the prospective places could be a members choice.

Now to limit the 'popularity contest' Spie/Moderation team select a shortlist, and then open a thread with a short explanation of the contribution and reasons why each nomination has been added to the shortlist with a poll and from that shortlist the members get to vote....

I think it may work, and will give the members some input to the process and would also mean that members who only or predominantly paticipate in forums that others don't frequent very often get a little more exposure....for example, if I wanted to spec a system I now know that Stulid is the man to listen to, something I didn't know until recently.

I fully understand and accept peoples concerns, however I think it is a reasonable request and worth a shot and if it falls flat then we needn't repeat it.

Just to play Devil's avocado for a minute, why should contributions necessarily be made in a positive manner?

They don't particularly have to be, fair point. I just find there are a lot of well known posters on the forums who come out with the same tired **** everytime whereas, personally, I prefer to read stuff from those who actively try to build up threads (even with hilarious comments :D)

Surely a short-list which would be about 5 people I'd imagine would be given it anyway?

I think there a coupe of stand-out obvious choices, but then a raft of others who could be considered...it is from these that a shortlist could be prepared.

It's just an idea, I'm sure others might have a better way of implementing it or even ideas of their own.

Castiel, you seem to be getting way above your station on here because for one you post a lot and secondly you have others on here that clearly lick your bum which boosts your own ego.

This thread was made to drum up support for you to get MOH nothing more nothing less.

Haha, someone's mad. :D

That's what I pointed out earlier, stulid can be an obnoxious individual at times and I'm sure people who don't venture into Hardware forums (General Hardware for that matter, he used to be a **** in Graphics forums as well) may be surprised at how different of a person he seems to be outside of there.

I doubt it, Castiel is not a britboy.

Such as? I think we've discussed the possibility of a member appointed MoH to deah, but without some suggestions of names to go into this shortlist this thread seems to have run its course.
