As someone who he has helped out a fair few times now, I feel justified in telling you to stfu about things you obviously have no clue on.
Your opinion was fair enough (albeit wrong), now your insinuating stuff rather unpleasantly.
...and that post in a nutshell is why it's a bad idea to start the whole member running to be voted MOH thing...
Lets face it, if there was a "MOH" that could be nominated/voted on by members there would be members and cliques that wouldn't be able to resist actively campaigning for it, this thread alone illustrates that.
Leaving it with Spie and the mods has worked well for 10 years, don't really see any reason to change it tbh.
If you really think he's pretending to care about people for this thread, how do you explain the countless time's he cared for people before? He's helped me and countless other people through email, and never made a single mention of it to the forum, yet he's doing it to win MoH? Don't make me laugh.
And to be honest, even if he was doing that - Does it really matter? He's helping people that need help, it doesn't really matter the reason, as long as he is helping. Which is much, much more than can be said for far too many around.
There is no reason to continue to question either my integrity or honesty is there.....really?
So I would ask you kindly to refrain from doing so as you are basically attacking my character and in effect that constitutes a personal attack. Now while I accept that you have a differing opinion on why I created this thread, I have explained my motivations and that should be enough, you do not have to agree and neither are you required to participate if your only reason for doing so is to attack me rather than the idea put forward in the thread itself.

I tend to think there are a few people that make a positive contribution to the forums, both in this thread and elsewhere, and I'm sure they will get consideration for a MOH, be it this year or next.
The trouble with making it a vote or membership suggested thing is people end up either campaigning for the award, or end up defending/having to justify themselves.
One of the strengths of the Spie awarded status is that it's final and not open to debate as it's solely in the gift of "the boss".
FWIW I think Castiel, Stulid and a couple of others posted in the thread would make fine candidates for MOH, all for reasons as diverse at the forums themselves, but opening GD up to a "popularity contest" will only end one way - with the waving of the hammer of dewm...

Unfortunately there are a lot of posters here who barely contribute and just pop into threads to post inflammatory one-liners, as we're seeing here.
They will ignore any reasonable arguments, pay them no heed.

I only read the hardware sections on a dull day, it's not a place I would recognise anybody from.
However when I think about some of the funny threads that struck me as well written then they have all been by [FnG]Magnolia.
I guess it comes down to who makes the most difference to the forum, I think hardware/motors are handy for opinions but there are lots to go around, whereas we only have a few people like [FnG]Magnolia. If he wasn't here then the GD forum would be significantly duller. The same for Fox, I never go into motors but I like to know that if I did have a question then he would be around.
I'd vote icecold as well. The amount of time he gives to people for advice in the Sports Arena is only matched by the knowledge he has! Saying that, I'm sure he'll win the "best contributor" acolade that Steedie has started in the Gym Rats Awards thread. He gets my vote for MoH though!
