Well we will have the PS3 conference tomorrow Wed evening approx 6:30 GMT i believe.

How do YOU think Sony is going to rock the boat with its BIG announcement or will Phill crack up and make a mess of it..

Lets hope their presentation is a bit more professional than E3 efforts and we see some Sony of old.

Good Report Here Guys

I think Phil Harrison will deliver the following statement "excellent news. Sony is proud to anounce the inclusion of a new feature for future SIXASIS controllers. We are including a feature to allow players to feel the game by a newly added 'rumble' feature developed by immersion technologies. This new technology is very exciting and I'm sure developers will make great use of it."

:D

Id prefer to see Phil striding onstage jumping up and down proclaiming
"R U READY TO RUMBLE!!!" and then falling on his ass.

Well it might be more fun to hear why they now need it when "rumble" was quote "last gen"

Id like to here some announcements on expected big games and this whole idea of how the PS3 is the centre of a media home hub.

Gamers though still want games and online, i just hope Sony arnt spreading their wings to far too soon and might be better concentrating on the initial gamers interests first rather than jumping onbaord the digital download bandwagon and whole entertainment box solution.

That *would* be nice for the Euro release!

I think Sony will be crucifying themselves if they don't give the people looking forward to the release of this console some good news for a change! Rather than the usual spiel that Harrison chucks out, maybe he'll actually announce some developments... still, this is Sony we're talking about!

Apop (Eagerly awaiting his PS3)

You say that, but it wouldnt surprise me if Sony try and make out that Rumble is a revolutionary new feature and how its gonna make Microsoft and Nintendo run for the hills

Rumble in the 3rd dimension ;)

Funny though that the PS3 controller is outdated before the system even make a Euro Launch.

Whatever it is, he previousley stated that on March 7th Playstation 3 owners are going to be VERY happy.

We will just have to wait and see I guess ;)

They will presumably be going on about the return of dual shock.

I would love him to come out and just be straight and admit that it wasn't included because of the law suit and not because of the SIXWHATSIT thing. Come on Sony, grow some bloody balls.

All this rumble coming back is hype (even if it is coming back, I think it is way too early after the lawsuit).

The big announcement will be new media playback functions for the PS3. PSP interaction, new photo playback modes and this new "playstation home" thing. (your own 3d virtual space kind of like an avatar, but like a customisable room that will also show your "achievements" and/or other internet content.

Other thing I am thinking is movie exclusives in HD on Playstation Network. Is it too ambitious to think they might pull something really amazing out of the bag, like spiderman 3 available to download in HD only on PS3 1 month after its in cinemas or 1 month before dvd or something? Somthing really exclusive that can't be copied by MS?

I mean, they have to do something that MS haven't done to really live up to the hype that is being generated (online) by this speech. Re-releasing dual shock wouldn't really by an acheivement would it?

Not having used a PS3 yet, I would prefer more media center type functions, as I don'tthink I will end up missing the rumble that much. But I guess the majority of the target market (gamers) would prefer the rumble back.

Ironically none of these are specifically "Games" related and seeing as it is "Game Developers Conference", maybe you are right and they will just release rumble.

disappointing if true.

That is all.

What, you mean he's taking early retirement...?

Im expecting him to run off some corperate pre-prepared bs rhetoric that for all its fancy words basically equates to "zomg ps3 ownz joo".

That and he'll talk out of his ass for a bit, like literally i expect him to pull down his pants, bend over and pull his cheeks around like his ass is talking.

The 1upyours podcast said it was possibly the sort of online avatar, virtual life stylee thing. it sounds cool, a gimmick, but cool none the less.

No - rumble may be part of it but I dont think its the "major" thing thats been hinted at for weeks and weeks

The idea about full downloadable movies is a great idea - the only thing that would concern me is how you would be able to back up from the PS3 once bought - I guess if you had online space where it was kept that might make sense but downloading to ps3 for high cost d/l (as a movie could be) needs some protection against hardware failure to start with.

I know there are always records of purchase etc, but even so

Fantastic idea though and I agree with you after all the hype and the general state of Sony and the competition it HAS to be something major (really hope we arent let down)
