Man on Fire

Im finished Ep3 last night. Its not bad at all. Spotted a few Denzil mannerisms from the main actor. Glad its set in Rio and not MExico, as I feel the OG film managed to make Mexico its own. Hard to explain, but the film really showed Mexico in lots of ways. The Rio setting is good and glad they didnt take the styling of the film with its sharp cuts, gfx over lays (broken film effect ?, random jumping of frames, if you know what I mean).

Also, pretty sure some of the locations in rio are the same as Fast and Furious with the Safe robbery one. When I say same, I mean are the same, like the safe house and its street.

Anyway. It's good so far and even though its takes a few ideas from the movie, its creates its own ie,
Bum Bomb = Chest Bomb
 
Finished it today, thought that the first two episodes were good but then it feels kind of dragged out after that until the final episodes.
 
Even the Denzel Washington version was trash in comparison to the book.

I'd love someone to recreate the book as a movie. That would be worth watching.

Enjoyed it for what it was, surprisingly one of the better 'new' Netflix shows we've had of late.

Wasn't there an even earlier movie, before the DW one?

Anyhoo, just finished this. It's one of those series which I certainly won't rewatch, but will probably watch S2 if it happens.
 
Enjoyed it a lot. Perfectly entertaining action if somewhat run of the mill. The story twist was different enough from the Denzel movie to not be a full remake.
Would happily watch another season if Netflix renew.
I read Netflix are looking for a Reacher style show which this might not exactly be but it still good.
