I'm going through one of my impulse buying sprees and recently it has been aftershave/fragrances. Usually when I impulse buy, I get a load of things, half of which I probably don't like. Hence why I've posted this thread. I'd like recommendations for a fragrance for the following situations.

  • Work
  • Down the pub for a few pints with mates
  • Out on the pull
  • Everyday general all-rounder

I'm not very metrosexual so I suck when it comes to picking such things. What do you guys use for the above situations? Female opinions are valuable too :D

Man sweat isn't an option. :p

Ta.

ive got a bathroom which looks like the boots counter lol.

i tend to go for emporio armani - the one in the black metal cylinder.

sometimes for going out i might use my jean paul gaultier - le male. the one thats in a male torso shaped bottle. make sure you like it though, it is more of an acquired taste, but the girls seem to like it.

Jean paul gautier (sp)

Get a lot of compliments from women on this choice.

Don't really classify my fragrances but most Hugo Boss fragrances make good allrounders I'd say.

I have Hugo and Boss in Motion here and I like them both, Joop is a good shout, though i'd put that one down as an 'On The Pull' from those options.

Issey Miyake for work and shops etc

and

Paco Rabanne - Ultraviolet for nights out, women love this one :D

Yep, and a quite impressively sized one at that!

Joop is nice! Though could see it being nasty if you splash too much on.

Whatever Lynx is on bogof in tesco normally. Im a student/pt musician so can't be too fussy about smells :p

On a little tangent, has anyone tried Tescos brand deoderant. It looks like Lynx, same style packaging, but is 60p~ versus £2~.

Edit: I pressed quote not reply, but quotes are good, so it can stay

I'm liking the look of the Jean Paul Gaultier, might give that a shot. I've got some L'Eau D'Issey and Gucci Rush here. Normally it's the Gucci for everyday/work and the Issey for going out. I find the Issey a bit overpowering though, even with one wee squirt.

So my shopping list so far is Jean Paul Gaultier and the Emporio Armani. Is it worth adding the Boss in Motion?

I would look at more subtle fragrences, the jpg is very nice and isnt too strong no matter how much you pit on same with emporio armani white, boss is too harsh for my liking, clinique happy is nice as a change but is very orangy.

Jean Paul Gaultier is a REAL classy fragrance. I would recommend it but I don't want everyone to smell of me :p

Other great alternatives are Ultra Violet, Fahrenheit (LUSH!) or Joop.

I wear such stuff practically all the time.

I wear JPG as my every day fragrence, sometimes us EA white or my clinique as a change.
