I couldnt disagree more, in fact had we not thrown away leads due to late goals against Everton and Fulham we could have had things wrapped up sooner.

Over 30 odd games its easy to find footage to support whatever point you want to make. United won the league because frankly they were the best team in the division.

Its really a strong squad when you break it down. We are probably lacking a midfielder or two (Yaya Toure would have been immense) but aside from that i think a lack of one individual star a la Ronaldo is making people think the squad lack quality which i think is a little unfair.

Maybe that's what it is but when I've watched Man Utd this season I've not been as convinced by them and their form as I have in some previous seasons, some years you just knew they'd win the expected games and probably most of the rest and it didn't feel so much like that this season. I don't think I'm alone in this but it's pretty irrelevant to the end result so well done to Man Utd and Sir Alex, it's a fantastic achievement however it is done.

I know exactly what you mean tbh but at the same time we have probably had more comebacks this season than any other!

At 2-0 down to both Blackpool and West Ham i honestly still thought we would win. In the Blackpool game i lumped on us at half time. I was that confident that if we got one goal we would win, which is very much the Man Utd way.

Im not saying this is my favourite Utd team of the last 20 years or anywhere near it but there is a team spirit and togetherness about this squad that i think is remarkable. There doesnt seem to be any egos, the squad rotates and no-one complains. That is a huge thing IMO. The midfiled is lacking. Giggs and Scholes shouldnt be main players and Gibson shouldnt be a footballer. However it is noticable that post Crawley in the FA cup SAF has realised that Bebe and Obertan arent going to cut it and they have been quietly forgotten about. Despite the hype i dont expect to see Welbeck or Macheda troubling the first team any time soon either.

Barca could hump us in the final and all the best to them if they do but if you had said at he start of the season SAF could deliver a title and a CL final id have laughed at you TBH.

Dare to say it, but despite what united fans might think about certain shortcoming in the squad, id place more faith in the manager, im sure central midfielder will be in his head personaly.

Tbh without the loss of valencia, and for large parts park, you'd have walked the league with a month or two to spare... both players bring the balance to the team.. they're both so consistant, a huge loss.

Here's hoping they can push on and beat barca in the final, id like to see that happen, and hopefully see Mr Giggs retire on a high with the alcocade of best ever, followed by being known as Sir Ryan.... that much respect for a player, no other player comes close to deserving such a title in the last 20 years.

I think you have hit the nail on the head there.

When we signed Valencia from Wigan there was a bit of "How much????!" going on. He wasnt a box office signing. Yet a year later his return is seen as instrumental in the title win.

Park is, at best, a bit part player. However his "bits" tend to be vital performances in vital games. He wouldnt walk into any first XI from a top team yet he plays a vital role. John O'Shea gets a hammering but who else has a 4th choice CB who can also play full back when needed? Its not the team that won this league its the squad IMO.

TBH i conform to all the sterotypes. However i conformed to the same sterotypes in the mid 80s when we were horrific and being humped by QPR. No one seemed to care then though for some reason.

United are special, its hard to explain. I watched the 99 CL final with a girl who wasnt even a Utd fan and the emotion of the win had her in tears and she had no idea why! It has to be something special to cause that emotion!

Nah it was weird actually. She is a football fan and knew what she was talking about but had no preference for the final. I was standing on the bar when the second goal went in. Ive never really felt emotion like that tbh,it took a long time for me to get back to her. She was in tears. I said "why are you crying?" and she just said "I dont know". It was just such a rush, i cant even begin to describe it. Ive never really felt anything like it.
