Managed service environment

does anyone know what a managed service environment is?

i applied for a support job around a month ago and one of the questions they asked was have you provided support to a managed service environment before

i clicked yes

now they rang me back wishing to discuss the role further

Outside company looks after everything pretty much I think. Place I worked at was a 'managed service environment' RM I think, it sucked. Couldn't do a fat lot, and spent most of my time on the phone to them to fix trivial things.

The term just sounds like customer service wherein you have management.. which would be all customer service jobs?

Or outsourced management maybe.

Basically outsourcing day to day management to a service provider. We tried it once, but as someone pointed out earlier it sucked...
