Well i bought the Monte Carlo for my fiancee at £100 from argos, £90 for phone and £10 mandatory top up voucher.
Her dad owns a shop which sells top ups by pay point, so he sold the top up voucher to a customer for a tenner who came in for a top up. So the phone cost £90.
Now i managed to sell her old phone, the original san francisco which is basically an older version of the monte carlo on ebay for £96.99 + £4.50 postage, now take paypal fees into account im left with £97.84, I dont know how much the ebay fee's are going to be, but I'm thinking they wont be as high at £7.84 i would hope.
So i'm actually left with a profit. Imagine that, managed to upgrade the phone and make a profit, result. I have no idea why someone bidded so high. It had 25 bids in total. In fact I'm amazed it went so high and I never bidded on my own auction to raise the price.
The guy has paid already by paypal, so it wasn't a scam or anything. I've had Nigerians win with a ludicrous bid before and I have had to re-list but this all looks kosher.
I must say the advert was extremely well made, maybe that's why it attracted a lot of attention?
anyway if anyone was going to sell their san fancisco, now is the time to do so.
