Manchester best steak?

Spending a few days in Manchester in November and I'm looking for some advice on where to go for a really good steak with the missus.

There's endless reviews online and I've found two which look good, have any of you been to either of these? Is there somewhere else you'd recommend instead?

iv been to gauchos and id recommend it. bit on the pricey side but the steak was yum and the service was top notch

Stuff those places if you want a good meal and tasty meat including steak then get your arse to Bem Brazil

I've been to Gauchos for a Christmas-time steak for the last several years and can recommend them.

We're going to try Southern11 this year.

I was leaning towards Gauchos so sounds promising

Thanks, prices look pretty reasonable here so might give this a go as well on one of the nights.

That was the second on my list (Blackhouse). Reviews do seem good for both I am struggling to decide between them.

Grill on the alley? ^^

Other cool places (although not necessarily for steak) are Southern 11, Gauchos, Grill on the alley, San Carlo, Albert's Shed. There's loads more, just can't quite remember them off the top of my head.

Been to Manchester Gauchos and the Hale Grill (same chain as Grill on the Alley, but in Hale) and they both do very good steak.
Gauchos is a bit fancier, but you won't go wrong with either place.

Can't disagree with any of the suggestions. Personally I favoured Grill on the Alley/Grill on New York Street over Gaucho. There is no doubting Gaucho has impressive décor though.

Another personal favourite of mine is Linen on top of the Manchester 235 Casino. It's also a lovely restaurant and food has been fantastic.

If you're thinking of Grill on New York or Grill on the Alley make sure you become a member as you can get upto 40% off. I've been a couple of times and had 50% off which helps a tad!

Gaucho is good as is Grill on New York Street.

Which do I prefer?

I had the best burger I've ever had at grill on the alley, wagyu beef, really nice. Steaks looked great too.

If Gaucho's in Manchester is as good as the one in London Picadilly, I'd be heading there.

Would say grill on the alley - but expensive, The Restaurant Bar & Grill another great place for steak

Sadly no more, it's James Martin Manchester now (although having said that it's getting pretty good reviews).
