Mandela statue, right or wrong?

African terrorist. Oh dear you do make me laugh.

You are aware that other respected world figures are also in London as statues?

wrong he conducted terrorist activities no matter how just the cause it ain't right

Against the apartheid, once he was released his reconciliation significantly led to him being led as the first democratic leader of South Africa.

Do you know even know what an apartheid is? Do you truly understand his story?
Definition below if you don't:

a·part·heid

noun
Definition:

segregated political system: a political system in South Africa from 1948 to the early 1990s that separated the different peoples living there and gave privileges to those of European origin

Wrong. He is an annoying man who was part of a terrorist/Guerilla movement. Enough money has been wasted on him without this stupid thing being built, waste of tax payers money.

Also didnt we (well BBC) go and plant him a garden a few years back?

Regardless of that he did commit acts of terrorism.

Absolutely right that they're erecting a statue to honour the man who was responsible for helping end apartheid.

Mandela vs Disraeli

Disraeli was instrumental in starting the British Empire.

Mandela famous for fighting against foreign rule and persecution.

Not really on the same team...

Acts of terrorism? I don't agree with that. Guerilla warfare well yes, bad things well yes. But he was not a terrorist. It was needed to end apartheid.

I don't have a huge problem, but why have a statue of an African man, when there's so many English people worthy of statues. unless it was paid for out private funds or charities.

Nelson Mandela absinthe

Let us get ****-faced!

(ruddy hell its harry and paul - for those that aren't aware!)

Mandela committed acts of terrorism. Lord Palmerston supported revolutions abroad. Lincoln conducted a bloody war. Lots of people died in all cases. They have statues because they fought for their beliefs and are considered by some to be great men and worthy of respect.
