[Manfrotto 190XB] What is this for?

Hi all,

Just sorting out / cleaning all my camera kit and I've come across this which I got with my tripod (Manfrotto 190XProB):

Anyone know what this is for? I Have a feeling it might be to do with attaching the carrying strap, but I can't see anywhere on the tripod for it to screw in?

Check under where the legs come together, it may be to allow you to hang a weight to improve stability.

Thanks for the reply. There's nowhere for it to attach where the legs come together either on the frame that holds the legs or on the centre column.

I'm starting to consider the possibility that it isn't . I did a search on here and TP before posting, and there was someone on TP who posted the same thing but with an 055 and strap kit, and had no replies. Anyway, I've now had the entire tripod apart and back together and there's definitely nowhere for it to go, guess it won't be living my camera bag anymore!
