I already have 405 geared head and a plate for every bit of kit that might attach to it.

I'm thinking of getting a 468MGRC4 hydrostatic ball head which has the same plate.

It looks like a nice head, particularly for the 100-400mm and the longer stuff that I am lusting after.

But will it be ok for smaller, lighter rigs?

Any opinions on this head (or the alternatives, the 488RC4 or 490RC4) would be most welcome. I defintely don't want the 808RC4.

Thanks,

Andrew

Ive got a 488RC4 head (on 055Pro legs). Does the job nicely.
Independant pan is great rather than using the ball to pan.
The plate is a monster as well, comes with 2 screws for mounting lens/bodies to it and 2 spirit levels as well.
