Manged to move house...

Our house was bought here 5 years ago for £255k - valued the other week (with only decoration done) for £315k. And we're going to extend it soon.

This house, was bought by my parents 11 years ago for £170k albeit in a bit of a state but now its been brought up to scratch and with todays house prices, its worth about £650k! Absolutely crazy.

Yeah, that is crazy. But i guess thats where investment comes in.

I just think its silly, the area isnt exactly the nicest areas, but a house similar to ours - smaller garden and a conservatory sold for £321k!

Thats insane! My parents bought a new build last year, 230k and has 5 bedrooms over 3 floors. Plenty of room for the whippets, flat caps and pipes

Thing is, both me and my bro need to be able to commute to central London each day for our jobs :(

Where's the bedroom?

The reception room presumably.
Yep, that's all the living space you get. Live there and sleep there.

Decent 1 bedroom flats in the nice part of town start at around £250K here, it's just stupid :(

Seriously considering getting out of London and moving back up to Manchester, where I'm originally from, as I could get a 3 bedroom semi for under £200K there.

If you don't move, surely you'd be better to perpetually rent a decent house rather than pay through the nose for a cramped and probably noisy little studio flat.
