that software is incompatable with this dell laptop, anyone else have any suggestions?

Sorry for the link and run and the snarky google comment. It seems you Dell is the only one not supported by that program!

I have to reiterate the laptop cooler suggestion OR some means of downclocking the Turion on the fly.

That fan should be spinning up, especially at 60oC!

I've got a Pentium M Dell Laptop and up to 45oC, the fan is silent (basically off). As soon as the temperature goes over 45oC, the fan kicks in. Never seen load temps go higher than 60oC. On a side note, I did replace the pap thermal compound between the CPU and heatsink with something a bit better :p

If its 60oC then thats going to cause some long term damage, probably not to the CPU but to other components inside the tight case (Hard Drive!).

its installed but it wont let me eneable notebook hardware control, i cant see any setting for the fans i take it its in the harware control tab which i cant enable, oh well worth a shot

from what i remember you set the temps the fans start and stop, not the actual speed it self
works on my 2 dells anyway
also put it on a dixons lappy (works even better on that (today actually :) )
