Made some american style pancakes last night as well as the normal ones we have. This just reaffirmed my love for maple syrup. Is there anywhere I can buy big vats of the stuff for little £££? Bought some from waitrose, £5.50 for a little bottle:(

I don't know where you can buy big vats but I do agree with you, I had some on my pancakes yesterday for the first time in ages and ended up drinking it out of the bottle :D

:D

Ive got about 5 2litre bottles of maple syrup from when i go over to Canada every few mths plus my sis in law brought a few bottle when she came over during xmas....literally been having pancakes for brekkie every morning for the past 10 yrs now.

When I went to Vancouver a little over 10 years ago, on leaving the country the only thing they were interested in searching me for was maple syrup, as if it were a controlled substance. I could have had a bag full of cocaine and they wouldn't have cared, but woe betide if I had a bottle of maple syrup!

Still don't know why to this day. Maybe stocks were low at the time? :p

Going back in May, maybe this time I'll be able to leave with some!

It's so damn expensive over here. Pretty cheap in USA as well.

I love Aunt Jemima Butter syrup. Wish I could get it here cheap :(

I like Aunt Jemima too but prefer the proper maple syrup...Aunt Jemima is a bit too sweet for me...i have a a couple of bottles of it sat in my cupboard gathering dust...

All my maple syrup had separated when I came to use it last night, tickets also booked to Canada with two empty suitcases waiting.
