US: Marco Polo

Netflix have cancelled it :(

Season 2 wasn't as good as the first but i was still looking forward to seeing more with season 3.

I can imagine it was expensive to make, but all it really needed was a good, memorable lead. The titular guy was just meh and couldn't carry the story.

I thought S2 was quite good tbh so I am a tad surprised. Yes it must have been one of their most expensive shows to date given the huge cast - and Marco's role wasn't exactly that prominent either.

Yeah he was rubbish, and I thought the Indian guy was terrible too. The Chinese cast were generally good apart from Kublai's brother who inexplicably had an American accent. And Kublai was perpetually out of breath as if he only had one lung. I found the show to just be boring overall and I was actually surprised it got a second season. I just watched it since there was nothing else to watch on Netflix.

Just started on this, and my god is the acting horrendous in some of the key characters! The two from Neighbours are just diabolical (Remy Hii and Mahesh Jadu), but in lead roles as the Princes! Talk about wooden AF.

That being said, it is very watchable due to the stunning scenery and gorgeous set design, and some of the actors are damn good.

The acting, even at its worst is hardly "horrendous". A little wooden, at worst. Overall the show has a decent level of acting, not the best, but far from the worst.
