Mario Galaxy - Official Thread

Think you're just trying to show off because there's no chance you did the luigi (i think it was this one) purple coin challenge in three goes.

Add to that the comet on the volcano level I think it was where you have to complete it without getting hit.

I notice in a lot of your posts you tend to show off too much regarding games (mario kart [everytime this is mentioned you can be sure there'll be a Kreee comment about snaking and belittling others because they moan about it] and smash brothers for example).

So yeh, whilst it won't bother you, I don't believe you (and I'm sure others agree without wanting to say) :)
 
I dont understand what these Comet Pranksters are...can ayone explain..are they even necessary?

I see there are different types...what do you do with/too them?
 
Basically each comet changes the way in which you get a star on that level. One comet, for instance, means that the enemies are speeded up for a particular mission - the mission is no different to when you completed it before. Another comet may mean a race through a level, not based on a mission in particular.
 
Yea, there are some that mean re-doing certain bosses but with only one life (can be frustrating!) and others where you have to race through without being hit (so one life again) ...

The ones where you race galactic mario are good fun - means getting the route exactly right as on some levels he's way off infront if you make even the slightest mistake - in terms of jumps for instance!
 
Aha now I see!

Another things if its doesnt say "speedy comet in orbit" when you look over the galaxy but you can see there is a comet there how do you get it to be a comet mission?? some have it and some dont. :s
 
Has anyone noticed on the front cover of the box, some letters of 'super mario galaxy' have stars in the corner, & what this spells out? :D!!

Weird, it should automatically be the comet mission if there's one orbiting that world. Are you sure it's not just on a nearby level?
 
I couldn't find an officail Wii Thread to spread the good news that I now have a wii (:eek: OMG $qu!ff has a console someone div by 0 to cancel out this impossibility) So I thought I'd use this thread!
 
Think theyre called star bits - kinda dull for the scond player just to be able to shoot stars at the screen - hardly a riveting two player experience!

Have had this game a week now and am progressing nicely, just hit the 50 star mark and am up to the bedroom thus far, think i have all the stars that i can up until now :)
 
My GF got this today as I got her a Wii for Christmas. One word.........AWESOME!!!!

Fantastic music, sounds, colours, variety. I love the concept, and the levels are incredible. This being said and we are only on the second galaxy.

I LOVE IT!
 
I got this out again over Christmas and gave my little cousin a go and he loved it :) I am going to have to try and complete it now as I played a bit for him and forgot just how brilliant the game is!

I would actually relish going back through it as Luigi and completing it again :D
