I must be getting old (38) as i'm liking their clothes a lot these days.
I bought 3 T-shirts for £90 the other day and they are lovely.

They have just opened a "super" marks and spencers near me, its a BIG lol.
The changing rooms are like something out of star trek, voice activated door locks etc.
Also If you get the wrong size you can press a button
and scan the bar code in and they bring you the desired size.
so i got the wrong size on purpose to test it out and i timed it.
knock knock on the changing room door 34 seconds later
and hey presto ! :D
I also love their food, I know it can be pricey but you are almost garunteed it's
going to be nice.
anyon else like Marks an Spencers?

The highstreet isn't completely dead they just need to offer a great service that people will be willing to go in and use. Make it personal and make customer feel good and they will still use the shop.

For some things including food and service I love them (43 years old). I also like some of their clothes including their suits. But I also find a lot of their clothes less fashionable and not of such good quality.

However I've been trying different underwear recently and found their Autograph hipsters very, very comfy indeed. They feel like silk. I don't care if people laugh... I'm comfy for the first time in years :)

I only go in when I have a voucher from Sky, a £100 one got me like 4 meals and some new slippers.

I don't normally buy their food or clothes as they (and their customers) just seem pretentious. Could buy 10 shirts from primark or matalan for the price of one from m&s. Can live without the star trek changing rooms.

£90 for 3 t-shirts??? Christ. I am glad I don't waste money on clothes.

are they good tshirts?

amazingly my favorite tshirts that I feel fit me best and are made from a nice material that's not stupidly thin are cheapo ones from America lol

They are miles better than the ones you get in primark and matalan

I don't know where the story about M&S food being better quality came from but I don't believe it. Every year I used to get £150 M&S vouchers from work at Christmas and we'd go and do a big food shop there. The quality was exactly the same as from other supermarkets.

I often hear people say that their food hall is better quality but that's rubbish. Just because it's more expensive than everywhere else, it doesn't automatically make the quality better. Pretentious old grannies might believe it but it's simply not the case.

I find a lot of their styles drab and uninspiring but their clothing is mostly well made and durable and worth spending the extra on for that alone, I mostly only use them for some underwear and fallback stuff for when I'm not sure what appropriate for an occasion.

Suits are decent, and formal shoes are ok value aswell. Fit on their other clothes is awful though, and agreed the food is just expensive not especially high quality.

Sadly, most people equate expensive with higher quality.

I also agree that their food is no higher quality than other super markets and other shops.

Some things being a 1/3 of the cost even being better quality.

Looking at getting a waist-coat and have to say those from M&S were lovely, however their smart trousers all seem to be styled for the elderly!

I used to be a Buyer for M&S and the recipes, ingredients and other specs of much of their fresh food was, at that time, of measurably better quality than most supermarkets, with the possible exception of Waitrose.

The 'Dine In' is a really good deal, but other than that I'd avoid M&S. The old dear buys practically all her food shopping from there, to be honest, their fruit and veg is usually top notch as well.
