Mark's art for Shelter page

Brilliant, thanks :).
Glad you like it, it's amazing the difference having 2 extra tones to work with makes! (in regards to extra detail) (only had black & 2 shades when I did the A4 version) - A3 is black & 4 tones (I do have 5 grey scale pens, but shades 1 & 2 are too similar to notice the difference!).

Received the Rabbit and had it framed in gunmetal frame with a black border, gave it to the wife for her birthday, she's well chuffed, the kids however find it spooky :p

Cheers fella job well done

Thanks dude, glad you like it :) - it came out a little spookier than I first thought it would lol!.

Also thanks for the donation towards Shelter - should be able to hit the £500 target soon (as I've just got a load of new pens as half ran out at once of my grey tones!)

That darko one is amazing.
Thanks, it was more that it was a great choice of subject by maccapacca for the style I think - some lend very well the minimalist high contrast style others not so much.

Got a few in progress I'll be starting over the weekend a couple of requests on here along with,

Want to do a Cherry Darling one (with machine gun leg! - all grey scale but with red lips).

Also working on,

Still well up for a Columbo one mate, you pick the photo to use; as long as it's not one when he had grey hair and looked all haggard :(

A3 or A4, up to you

Yup that's one of the two forum requests I mentioned earlier I'll be looking at.

I did a quick pencil sketch to get the feel for it as my pens all ran out - but they arrived (my grey tones) yesterday so can get back to it.

Annoyingly my blacks ran out (ordered some) arrived, started one piece... greys ran out lol.. Doh! - got bulk this time :).

I'll have another look for reference photos & post one on here to see if you are happy with it.

Got it today, really pleased with it. Thanks :D.
Glad you like it & happy it arrived, worked much better in A3 (as you suggested) along with the extra couple of grey tones - meant I could add more detail - makes the A4 one look terrible in comparison lol.

Cheers for the great donation as well :).

Hi elmarko,

Did you get my email? Sorry Ive not been in touch much, had to get a paper out of the way and had to put this on the back burner. I did drop you some ideas but kinda need your keen eye regards the subject being a car and how it would work as a ink drawing to what photos I should try to find...

Yup, forwarded it back home but had a quick look at the reference pictures & they look pretty good - the second one I'd guess would work better but I'll play around with them in photoshop with different colour/light balances - going to grab myself a few more tones for reds/blues from the local art shop (if they have any promarkers) to see if I can start adding a small splash of colour on each one (a bit of red, or blue on the lights maybe)

I'll drop you a couple of pics over email this weekend when I get a bit of spare time to give you a feel for what I would look like.

Very interesting thread, just found this.
Messaged you, might you consider doing two, a celebrity and perhaps a sketching of my daughter. I will explain when you reply to trust.

Yeah, drop us whatever you might like in trust - I've done a couple of peoples kids at work (but don't put them online or here as they are obviously more personal than celebrities/cars or warhammer lol).

The only thing worth considering is that that young children are pretty tough to do well (as my style is high contrast & kids don't have strong/distinct features).

Just finished off this one, got a few more in progress (included a few on here & a few from my work) - too many to do, too little time (As 4 hours each :O)

Just finished Columbo! (It's A3 size) , now to start on the car.. (my arm aches)

If your happy with it, drop a donation into the Shelter just-giving page & send me your address in trust so I can pop it in the post.

Got the trust messages, will reply once I'm back from work.

Hikari - sounds good, I'll look for some reference pics & send you a few to your email for you to pick from.

Tim - email me the reference pics & I'll see what I can do/let you know - colour is currently limited atm as I don't have a full range of the artist pens (building them up slowly).

Had another bash at one in colour to practice for a request, not sure what to make of it - tempted to do a different once in black n white.

Listening to some Carl Sagan - made me want to do something space-like (digital signature as I forgot to sign it) - Our pale blue dot (up close)

Another one finished & due to be posted.

£440.00 raised of £500.00 target - 88% :).

Will try to get a couple more done today of the outstanding requests.

Another one done as per a request earlier & posted away! - pretty happy with it but the reference was also well shot which made it easier!.

Having a short break from drawing (hands aching!) & re-installed some 3d modelling software, zbrush 4 here I come!
