marrying your cousin?

this

Jebediah Springfield: People, our search is over! On this site we shall build a new town where we can worship freely, govern justly, and grow vast fields of hemp for making rope and blankets.
Shelbyville Manhattan: Yes! And marry our cousins.
Jebediah Springfield: I was- wha... what are you talking about, Shelbyville? Why would we want to marry our cousins?
Shelbyville Manhattan: Because they're so attractive. I... I thought that was the whole point of this journey.
Jebediah Springfield: Absolutely not!
Shelbyville Manhattan: I tell you, I won't live in a town that robs men of the right to marry their cousins!

A bit off topic but don't you think the dispatches reporter looks a bit like a Pakistani Davina McCall...

...or do I need to go to bed?!

Apparently children are 10 times more likely to have genetic defects if their parents are first cousins. Also in one London hospital there is something like 24 children who are over 8 and parents are first cousins that have spent most of their lives in hospital. It's not just bad for the children it also causes a drain of funds as the NHS has to fund all their treatments and means that beds aren't free for other people whose parents didn't willingly condemn them to a life of pain.

I have a mate whos parents are first cousins :s

Him and his brother seem totally fine.

I don't think any of my other mates know but my parents knew his before they married!

Now don't start this type of propaganda, you could easily use the same argument towards thrill seekers causing themselves permanent injuries and needing years of hospital treatments, smokers getting lung cancer, boxers getting mental defects etc...

I know this happens in Africa too. I heard (not sure if it’s true) that some families in Africa, if the father goes away for weeks on end for whatever reason. It’s up to the eldest son to take over the fathers duties, including.......well you can figure it out for yourself:eek:
