Hi guys,

I'm after a bit of clarification; can you use SD storage on MM as an extension of your system memory as it were? I'm on Lollipop and I either have to manually move my apps/data to SD or point the app to the storage location in the app's settings.

Basically my Mum's got a Moto G, 8GB and she's filled it but I can't see any options for changing the storage location of things like Google Photo's?

Any ideas?

When you put an SD card in to MM it asks you how you want to use the card, either as an extension of the device, or as a normal SD card.

As above, but as I understand it not all manufacturers enable the option (not sure if Samsung do on the S7, though I'm sure someone else can verify).

You'd think moto would though with keeping close to stock.

That's because the moto G (first generation) doesn't have an SD card slot, so there wouldn't be any options for changing storage location.

No the s7 does not support this..

I think the reason being is that it meant to make the phone much slower due to the much slower SD cards read/write speeds...
Also stuff can get messed up if the SD card is removed or fails..

If her pictures are synced to Google photos then you can delete them off the device as they are stored in the cloud.
