Marvel vs. DC

I've been extensively catching up with the current state of the Marvel universe, starting with the excellent Civil War, and I am totally hooked.

The major story arcs have been great fun, Planet Hulk, World War Hulk, Secret Invasion, Dark Reign, Siege, all really enjoyable.

Also found stuff I wasn't aware of, like The Incredible Hercules (where the Cool Story Bro pic originates from), Young Avengers, and Runaways.

There are a bunch of releases that are crap and noticeably aimed at kids, but then there are more adult themed stuff, like Iron Man: Rapture.

DC > Marvel for me. Always been a DC fanboy and will continue to be so til I die. I am a Superman big time tho.

Been doing comic book and Smallville reviews on YouTube as well. Including the relaunch of DC Comics.

I have read some Marvel comics in the past, but their movies (well some of them) have been brilliant the last couple of years. Really looking forward to The Avengers, but I still think The Dark Knight Rises will be the biggest comic book movie of 2012.

Then after that, Man Of Steel in 2013. Good Lord, I am so psyched for that movie I am actually planning to go to Metropolis in Illinois to join in the Superman celebration in June 2013 in time for the movie's release :D

For the most part, they haven't. They have lots of other stuff going on in the pipeline. They've got a DC Nation block coming up on Cartoon Network next month and it will feature animated Green Lantern and Teen Titans and Young Justice. The latter was on CN last year and was a big hit.

They've also been releasing a lot of new animated movies, the latest one is out today and it's Justice League: Doom which is based on the graphic novel JLA: The Tower Of Babel. I've seen it and read the book, both are amazing.

So, while many believe DC are just concentrating solely on Batman, that is further from the truth. Plenty more going on behind the scenes than what people are seeing. ;)
 
I prefer the stories for Marvel as they are much more interesting and the shear amount of writers pumping out stuff

DC has some really strong characters though and certainly the movies are of higher calibre than Marvel.

I wish Marvel's movies were deeper and less focussed on merchandising and pushing the franchise down the consumer throat
DC movies are just movies and don't really feel like they are simply there to push the franchise along.

Wolverine, Spiderman, the Beyonder etc etc etc
 
Shouldn't this be here?

DC for me if I must express a preference. In reality, if the comics are well written and drawn and the movies are wow, I don't care which company produces them!
