hi all

recently i decided to buy sata3 ssd (crucial m4 or similar) but today i've discovered that my P6X58D-E mobo uses Marvell 9128 controller.
i heard Marvell 9128 does not support sata3 like it should and may even cause problems (like freezing)
my question is: is it better to buy sata2 ssd or sata3 ssd
and if i'll buy sata3 ssd is it better to connect it to SATA 3Gb/s port or 6Gb/s port ?

regards

buy sata 3 ssd, they are backwards compatible with sata 2,they will just run at sata2 speeds

i would run on the marvell sata3 port,it will be quicker than sata2 but not as fast as the newer marvell or intel sata 3 ports found on later boards

its only in raid 0 on the marvell you would run into problems,if you do get freezing ect simply plug ssd into intel sata2 port
