I'm looking to add more mass to my build, so i can start cutting for summer.

I usually bulk up for few months and then start intense cutting.

Im getting really lazy though, Ive bought mammoth 2500 shake, but it taste nasty as ****. I usually just stick with chocolate all the time regardless of what brand.

Question i am asking guys, which brand protein/bulking is the best tasting flavour.

Thanks in advance.

So you're looking to add more calories and are being lazy?

No need to buy silly bulking shakes, just buy some powdered oats and consume with whey and/or milk and a flavour.

Or just eat more ;)

Yeah lazy because really I don't have the time. I have been coming from work late.

But I do understand I may just be making excuses.

Sort your diet first, supplements should be used as described.... Supplementary.

Yeah I know i am not supposed to use it as a substitute for food. I am still doing light training before I start properly in spring.

I just want to maintain my protein intake.

But I guess I should just stay away from this crap then ?

Should I Just follow 3hr rule of eating. I should see similar results ?

Buying oats and adding these to whey is cheaper and just as easy. If you want add olive oil to bump up the fat or drink with milk to increase overall calories as you see fit.

Imo, they aren't necesary and most 'bulk' will just be fat gain, but what ever works for you.

People will say 'X Y Z, bulk shake worked the best for me'. At the end of the day it's just calories, it wouldn't matter if you got the calories from eating your own ****, calories are calories.

You know what I worry about, that suddenly if do drop off from training.

And I keep eating the same diet when I was training. High calorie intake.

You see these ex body builders that become fat slobs, because they continue to eat like they did when they were training.

Supplements however you can just drop off and eat as normal. Your stomach and apeitie will stay normal.

I just see certain guys at gym that just started (noobs) and are gaining ridiculous mass in short time.

I know they are cheating.

Like i said this mammoth tastes like tarmac, but it is a good fast effortless solution for me.

Could just add whey/oats/milk/ nuts/ olive oil etc for similar quick calories.

Eating properly is an alternative solution.

Whats your current diet like?

Bulking shakes are used for simplicity or time constraints, like the others said it's just food.

Oats/pb/evoo and whatever powder i choose works well for me.

Sorry I wasn't actually having a dig, there are situations when you want to use as little time as possible. But yeah, oats/whey/milk is an awesome high calorie quick fix. Just don't over do it :)

Thanks for incite .

Funny you should say about over doing. I think someone few months back posted a thread for consuming like 2-4 litres of whole fat milk a day for mass building, just before he started his cutting regimen.

LMAO

Then you will gain fat.

Your appetite will still stay large, calories from supplements are just as filling and useful to the body as real food. Just because they are drank doesn't make them any different or have any different effect on how the body uses them. It's exactly the same as real food. If you ate 2000 calories from food and 2000 from supps and then dropped your supps your body will still give you hunger pains for those extra 2000 calories for a short while. Providing you are still exercising.

Most likely the 'n00b' gains, the bodys first period of resistance training when gains tends to be accelerated. Though this period is short lived. That and/or gear. If they are truely 'gaining ridiculous mass'.

There's a chap in my gym who to most has 'gained lots of mass' when infact all he's done is binge on carbs, loads up on creatine and possibly run a cycle of something. He's still not trained his legs. Quite frankly I think he's in a bloody awful state but to others is obviously percieved as 'massive'.

If you know what you're looking at the difference between fat/water and muscle is very obvious ;)

I guess oats it is then.

Save some money as well.

You just add whey yeah, some people put cocoa powder to give some extra taste.

Nesquick is usually a favourite for adding flavour if you've got plain whey. Cinnamon is quite good I found. Goes well with oats too.

Just don't put lots of nesquik in, though i guess if you are bulking then it's all carbs so hell go crazy :p

Out of interest, can you pre-mix Oats and Whey for drinking a few hours later?

Do you all stick to your 2-3 whey protein drinks a day (I.e two scoops per drink.), or do you go over?

EDIT: I'm having trouble going over maintenance of calories due to only really being able to consume meals during breakfast, lunch and dinner, thanks to work. Thus I can't spread meals out, can't eat at work other than lunch. I already consume 2 protein whey shakes a day.

Depends wether that much protein (work out your current macros). Likely to be better to add fats or carbs. Nuts is an easy way to put you in caloric excess.
