Mass Effect 1

ME2 does some things better, but quite a few things worse than ME1, whereas ME3 does a couple of things slightly better than ME2 but most things worse than 1&2

I currently playing through ME1 a second time, this time taking all the renegade options. Definately more fun this way.

Bah, I was doing a second play through of ME3 but I'm half tempted to do the trilogy again.

All three have their ups and downs. The first one probably has the best story, mainly because it's the great unknown.

There's what? 6 companions, 5 key semi-allies and 3 big bass to keep track of. There's maybe 6 core missions / locations everything else is primarily flavour.

1 of the core missions is filler anyway. After Eden prime and the Citadel you need to do 3 missions.

If you go to the Moon, pay special attention as that foreshadows the later games.

Well managed to find something called a Codex in the ol' options and just read it all and am now up to speed on all the races and everything! :)

Love this game

When I first started playing I was a bit OCD about reading every codex entry, which probably helped when getting to grips with the series. I only read a few in ME2, and none at all in ME3.

It's a shame really because they've obviously gone to a lot of effort building up the lore, but it was almost 'too much' to take in and thankfully if you exhaust all the conversation trees with everyone you meet you should get a fairly good handle on what the craic is anyway.

Finished ME1 two times, and ME2 two times- choosing completely different story line...now playing ME3 + bit of multiplayer...all parts are great! I enjoyed playing ME2 2nd time more thn ME1 2nd time tho... :p

after I finish ME3, will play 2nd time (in 7-12 months time) transferring saves with different story line. :) :) :)
