Mass Effect 2 any good?

Its like its predecessor. Good storyline, great characters and pretty graphics marred by some poor design choices and slightly clunky gameplay.

Well worth it if you like games with a good story like i do.

ME1 tips:
Don't bother with the collections quests - can be a frustrating time sink, and doesn't carry over.
Do side quests as they appear in your journal (from bumping into people, or receiving them through terminals etc..) instead of methodically scouring the galaxy.

This! some of the planet exploring stuff is pure game filler and is not worth your time

Plus I would recommend not playing ME2 unless you complete ME1.

I still don't understand this argument. I never played ME1 - and looking at the youtube vids, I don't think I missed an awful lot - it seems clunkier and not as polished as ME2, and I still felt as though I was familiar with the other characters through ME2....

It's not an argument, I'm simply recommending that, if you haven't played any of the ME games, that you start from ME1. You say you don't think you've missed a lot but that's because you havent played ME1 - so you wouldn't know what you missed :) Youtube videos (~5min?) isn't a great way to summarise a game that takes ~15-35 hours to complete.

As I mentioned before;

One of the greatest strengths of the mass effect series is its story, so why skip the first half of a book?

Anyway back to the OP, enjoy :D

The first time i played mass effect 2 i just didn't enjoy it, found it generally boring and i didn't like the run motion which made me feel sick. However i just got it again today with all the DLCS. I've now been playing from 4pm which short breaks for food and drink now it's 2.20am!

Reading all the codex's, upgrading, and scanning all the planets

^^ The lair of the shadow broker DLC really adds to the ME2 experience imo, I like the way it doesn't just add an extra quest but an extra layer to the rest of the game too once completed.

Have started the game again with all the DLC (except lair of the shadow broker, will pick that up later) - really loving the game. Lost all my saves and wanted a new one ready for ME3 :) - couldn't be bothered to start all the way back at ME1 though!

What's rather bugging me is the clip bug!, sometimes for example hiding behind a box or other large item you end up on top of it!. You can't jump off and sometimes you end up walking in mid air and the only way to get of is DIE.

Why haven't they fixed this :(

I used my cerebus key on an old email for hotmail or clan email and for the life of me can't remember which one, do I need to buy a new cerebus key to get this content?
Also is the dlc just added on, adds nothing in the beginning of the story?
