Mass Effect 2 help

OMG why have I never played this game before now? Totally addicted to it.

Only thing that bugs me is that I don't feel I'm making the most of my two squad mates, I tend to just concentrate on what Shepard is doing and let the AI control my squad - which recently has normally involved them unfortunately charging head first into a horde of Geth and me having to use Unity on them a few seconds later. Anyone got any tips to help me be a more effective commander?

Ai is quite dumb in this game, best you can do is tell them where to go. Keep them near you all the time or they will probably die.

Map there abilities to your pad and use them, Make tem stay in cover next to you too if possible or send them some were else.

If your not doing it on Insanity and are doing normal difficulty they should be fine on there own but long as you still make use of there powers i.e. warp diff ammo,push,pull etc

Use their powers! Will certainly help you. Make sure you use your D-pad left and right to tell them where to sit for cover, they should just stay there then!

Depending on what your class is, you'll be needing to use your team mates more and more often to kill enemies, especially ones with Shields, Biotics, Armour AND Health to deal with all at once!

I tended to always stick to two squaddies that could summon additional attackers, e.g. combat drones, AI hacking, dominate. That way you've effectively got five people fighting for you.

I mainly just concentrated with what shepard was doing aswell

I never really worried about the team mates, completed fine on Insanity

LOL, how many goes did it take for you to defeat the Scions and Praetorian on Horizon? And don't say one because I won't believe you.

I'm playing as Shepard, so the soldier class I think. Any advice on which heavy weapon people prefer? I'm using the collector thing I picked up on Horizon atm, all the others have been a bit disappointing.

I tended to stick to the missile launcher. It tracks so you can fire from round corners to hit armoured targets.

You always play as Shepherd, no matter what class you are

but the fact you've got heavy weapons probably means you're Soldier. I find some of the rocket launchers are pretty good, but it really depends on what enemies you're facing, the collector weapon is pretty good though!
