Here's my post from the other thread about the suicide mission for anyone interested.

The trick to the final mission is specialisation and loyalty, don't send someone to do a job they aren't suited to and don't expect non-loyal squad mates to back you up when it counts, your options are pretty much this:

Vents: Tali/Legion
2nd Squad Leader: Miranda/Garrus
Shield: Jack/Samara
Escort: As far as I know anyone will do besides Jack/Samara, even they might, I used Grunt.
Distraction: Miranda/Garrus/Jacob

Bold = My choices.

Also make sure you fully upgrade the Normandy.



On a side note, anyone else chose to romance Tali? For me she was the only worth while choice, Miranda was a bitch with an inferiority complex which really bugged me and Jack just struck me as a Renegade option. Tali however was quite obviously interested in Shep from the get go and the only one of the 3 without a personality disorder. The sex scene is slightly less interesting but it's probably just meant to be more character developing than anything else.

I didn't have any romance in my game :( miranda hated me as i picked jack over her in there argument...

Escort: thane
Distraction: Miranda/grunt/Jacob/Mordin/Samara/tali

geth died first who was on my team, then miranda randomly died at end but doesn't show how she died just shown her dead on floor

though these are the 2 people i disagreed with in the 2 arguments that happened

I agree about Miranda being an irritating character, and the outfit is (well to me anyway) so not attractive.
 
For the arguments between Tali/Legion and Jack/Mirander you have to have 75% Paragon/Renegade, without that you have to pick a side, the side you don't pick will become disloyal and you need 100% Paragon/Renegade to get them back.

i lost Legion to a swarm thing at the door. Zaaed died as well somehow, and Thane got taken away when Miranda was the shield girl. Really gutted about thane he was rather ace.

I had Thane, Grunt, and a member of sheps fireteam (Garrus) die on me.
 
Yeah had 75% paragon for the Tali, Geth aggro, but then Geth died during the shield part of the final mission (Miranda providing shield) Geth was too slow to make it through the door. I was annoyed because I choose Miranda hoping she would die, annoying mare that she is.

The Miranda/Jack arguement happened straight after I did the saving of Miranda's sister mission so that was kind of a wierd situation. Just saved her sister, she was really grateful then boom, won't talk to me any more.

I would hate on the game a bit because I felt kind of cheated out of storyline content with 90% of the missions being a recruitment drive and missions for your companions, but Joker saves the game for me. Still, no more than an 8/10 for me.Don't even get me started at the woeful time sink that is planet scanning. Makes the Mako roaming on planets look like gameplay devised by a genius.

Suicide mission summary: -

Vents - Thane - died whilst trying to help me close a door.
2nd squad leader - Garrus
Shield - Miranda - wanted her to die but she survived and Geth died?!
Escort - Mordin
Distraction - everyone else minus Grunt and Tali who were with me. We all survived.

Don't get why people would chose anything but Legion/Tali for the vents/door and Jack/Samara for the shield. Talk about taking a knife to a gun fight.
 
Continuing about the Geth...

If the bad geth were turned bad by Nazara's virus was it also him who gave them sentience and made them turn on the Quarians? I can't remember what it says in the codex about Quarians and Geth. But if they were good to start with, why did they drive the Quarians from their homeworld? Or is it just a case of survival as the Quarians would have wiped them out otherwise?

I dont have the codex to hand, but I think the Quarians struck first once they realised the Geth were evolving towards independence.

The Geth began to question their existence and purpose to the Quarians which lead to the Quarians deciding to terminate all Geth in the Flotilla. This lead to the Geth rebelling against the Quarians. It's all discussed in Mass Effect 1.

Thane seems like just as obvious a choice, sneaking around through vents, getting into places he shouldn't. He is an assassin after all.
 
WOW, in only lost Morden, every one else survived, which i though was cool on a first run through

Anycase

Vent- Legion
Second Squad- Gareth
Sheild- Samara
Escort- Jacob
Distraction- Every one else except for Miranda, and Grunt, who came with me.
 
All squad memebers collected and loyal

All Ship Upgrades

All Survived

Vent- Tali

1st Distaraction - Garrus

Shield - Jack

2nd Distarction - Miranda

Escort - Grunt

& Legion replaced both Jack & Tail when they were doing thier Vent & Shield duties and unavailable for the team!

edit: I blew up the ship I don't trust that illusive man!

I want to play again!

I played total renegade upgraded all of the ship and didnt bed any of the women.

All my crew survived.

Did anyone not destroy the ship? I dont trust cerberus so i blew it up
