Mass Effect 2 Teaser

If you haven't played the first game then what are you whinging about? This teaser is obviously meant for those who played the first, not someone new to the series, people who played the last one have been teased about whats happened to Shepard and why the Geth has his logo on. Mass Effect is meant to be a trilogy, you're probably not going to understand any of it without playing the first, sequels shouldnt have to dripfeed you the story from the first except as brief opening comment, especially not an RPG. I don't mean that as condescending, but this teaser is obviously aimed at people who played the first, as its a sequel.

How many initial teasers show much, if any, game info? Most of them show you a characters face doing something and thats about it. Proper trailers come later.

Yeah I am sure that the producers of a new game are only out to get the same customers back. What a load of rubbish! The purpose is to get people to buy the game, pure and simple, which includes new customers.

This game is also being released on multiplatform and seeing as it was never released on things like PS3 then a lot of the NEW CUSTOMERS will know very little about the game. So yes the teaser is rubbish! :P

First teaser trailers of RPG/Series games that are amazingly short are always meant to give the fans of the series that have played the first something to look forward to and go "ooooohhh" the full length trailers for the people that havent played the first part of a trilogy come later, so those people understand a bit more about it opening up the franchise to a wider customer base.

Thank you, someone else who understood my point.

Am I the only one that thought Mass Effect wasn't all that great? It was good, but not fantastic. I mean strip away its graphics and groovy music and you have a pretty short and at best "decent" game.

There was no substance/weight behind any of the story or the characters, it was just all flash and polish. Its been awhile since I played it, but I remember it being very poorly paced and feeling absolutely nothing for the characters.

The actual written fiction might be good, but they failed at bringing it to a game.

Yes thats right, I'm attacking your favorite game!! *pow pow* wanna fight abou it!? :D

Surely the N7 logo is just the security clearance? Could be that they have an alliance with the Geth somehow?

Never watched it due to being at work, but mentions of the N7 logo prompted me to input :D

I bought Mass Effect for the 360 and thought it was pretty good but I just couldn't get into it enough to keep playing it but reckoned on the PC version being more my thing what with using the keyboard and mouse. Well, a very fine game I think it is but I still just can't get into it. Shame. Think it might be that I've had enough, for the time being, of over the shoulder shooters, much prefer first person. I mean I believe in other beings from other planets but in this game I think it detracts from it, for me anyway.

No actually I'd agree, it was too short and the side planets were too identikit. However the atmosphere and the main planets were very good, it was one of those games I felt wanted to be great, but part way through making they decided they wanted a trilogy so the content was heavily watered down to fit 3 games (IMO) :)
Hopefully ME2 will be deeper/longer.

Also a lot of side stories went something like this after a few questions:

'Shepard: Sooooo, we're old friends eh? Tell me more about you.
Other character: I don't feel like it, we'll talk later...'
Errr....ok?

Tali was probably the best, and I wanted to like Carth....err I mean Kaldian or whatever it was and Joker, but the amount of lines for them was so limited.

Yes, I do agree in a way. There are a lot of annoyances in the game (which I wont list now), and it's a shame because the main story is quite epic.

wait wait teaser..... it is a TEASER.

not a trailer... NOT a TRAILER.

The vid is purely meant to show fans of the first. yes we are working on the 2nd and yes we are going to head**** you with this teaser.

To the people who are saying that was pointless have you seen the teaser video for the new final fantasy........ I havnt a clue W T F is going on there. Yet loads of fans of the series fapped over it.

Anyways I really enjoyed the first, highly looking forward to this one :)
