Hey,
So far I'm loving ME3, i was just wondering if anyone had any tips for the multiplayer mode. I've played it a lot myself, so im looking for any different perspectives on how to do Gold difficulty.

At first, having played the Demo i'd have guessed Vanguard all the way, and just keep cycling your shields with Nova-charge. But later waves on silver difficulty do tend to show that, as crazy high as the damage output is, it's not enough if you get caught without shields and can't charge. Plus there's the assassinations.

I have a feeling the Salarian Infiltrator would be good as you can restore shields without breaking cloak, but so far apart from that nothing has hugely stood out beyond trying to get super good guns and praying between rounds.

Any thoughts? :)

You'll need a mixture of classes and good teammates in your squad to do well on Gold. Most people choose Vanguards and end up dead by wave 3 or 4. I chose an Engineer, which is more of a support class, and got a stupid amount of assists helping others take down enemies

Hah. I picked Vanguard for the Demo cuz i'd been using it in previous single player plays and fell in love with it. But it's pretty high risk. It lets you dominate in Bronze and hold your own if you're clever in silver, but i cant see it working in Gold. It's a shame when I can blitz a public lobby on bronze and match the 3 random's combined score on my own.

Ive got some good team mates so we'd probs end up running something like engineer, soldier, infiltrator, something. Either way i think it's fingers crossed :P

If it was me I would go with:
Salarian Engineer x2
Salarian Infiltrator x2

-Salarian Engineer for Decoy because when used correctly it makes Gold just that much easier, since it takes off a lot of the pressure when you're getting swarmed. It's also a must for the hacking objectives, especially those that get put in the middle of the maps where there is no cover.
-Salarian Infiltrator to revive downed team mates and he will be the one to run around doing the other kinds of objectives with tactical cloak. They're also great when paired with a high powered sniper like the widow/javelin.
-All 4 of them have energy drain to remove enemy shields and restore their own, the engineers have incinerate to take care of armor and the infiltrators tactical cloak + a high powered sniper rifle helps with armor also.

I came close to finishing wave 10 on Gold with a similar team (1 quarian infiltrator + 1 Human engineer replaced 1 of each Salarian), but unfortunately we ended up with a hacking objective on the other side of the map in the enemy spawn so we couldn't even get close to it :o That was the one and only time I ever played Gold since we were originally playing silver, but we breezed through it in 15 minutes (average is about 20-25) so we decided to try Gold instead. Now all I seem to get is randoms who can't stop dying on Bronze so there is no way in hell I'm even going to waste my time even attempting Gold again.

It also doesn't help when people ***** their load over the first Atlas they come across and waste all their rockets by wave 3 or 4, yeah good luck with the higher waves when you're being gang raped by multiple Atlas/Phantoms ;)

Edit: I also forgot about Asari Adept and her Stasis Bubble, so you could try replacing an Engineer with her if you wanted.

I'm slowly working my way through the multiplayer characters, wanted to get one of each class promoted so that I could probably try out each. Started with Vanguard as that's what I've played all through the mass effect single players, and have to agree that on bronze at least, stupidly overpowered. Gets very quickly found out at higher levels though.

Then moved on to Infiltrator and didn't get on with it at all. I was playing as a Quarian and sabotage skill was useless because of the idiot groups I was in using it as a quick way of killing the bigger mobs instead of letting them kill their other mobs alongside them, frustrating. Great for sneaking around supporting others, reviving and hacking.

Next I played a Drell Adapt, once you get a few skill points they are stupidly strong, almost like the Vanguard at bronze level, was harder at silver but could still hold their own, probably more so than the Vanguard I thought. Lift/Reave combo is brilliant at relieving pressure and taking out groups of mobs, tougher against the big guys as they had almost nothing to take down shields/barriers/armor. I would imagine the Asari Adept would be far more versatile at this.

Just started off a Turian Soldier last night and got about up to level 10, first impression, can't roll! Bizarre. Very tough though, they take a lot of punishment, marksman takes an age to recharge, concussion shot is good and then there is the grenades. Wouldn't like to try anything harder than a Silver game with it though at the moment.

Harder games definitely need the right team and they need to be properly equipped, can't see how a Vanguard would help on Gold, think you'd be found out very quickly.

Is anyone still playing multiplayer? If so, any ideas on how you use the omnishield as the new N7 Paladin class? I can't work out which button to press!

EDIT: The shield is the melee action. I figured it out.

Took me a few waves to work out the omnishield too :) When Mass Effect 3 was released I dismissed the multiplayer but actually its great. Plenty of free DLC being released for it as well, which has been a pleasant surprise.

I just promoted one of my mulitplayer characters, what benefit does this have to the main game?

I'm still playing multi player, but am not the greatest in the world!
I might be about tonight if anyone wants a team member who doesn't charge off and die for a past time.

XBL tag is G23 Mr Gimp

Because they want to keep you playing. If you could choose what stuff you get in the packs, you'd get bored after a couple of days and lose any incentive to continue.

It can be annoying, but buying what you want would be a bit daft as everyone would be spamming matches with Black Widows and not using any skill whatsoever.

Who's looking forward to the DLC tomorrow?
I'm hoping to have about 800k credits saved up.

Any idea about the new Collectors? Is the Scion the equivalent to the Banshee/Atlas/Prime? What do those web things do?
